The lawbreakers and offenders are investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The legal immigration applications are normally handled by US Citizenship and Immigration Services while Border Protection keeps the border secure. Immigration law governs the process of naturalization fo r people who are desiring to become US citizens. In addition, immigration law controls the detention and follows how the removal proceedings are carried out for when the foreign countries overstay in a certain country than recommended or when they lose legal status.
